Gabriel & Castellon - Tramp now available on Beatport!

Coming fresh from some high profile remix jobs (a.o. Roger Sanchez, Dirty South, Hoxton Whores) and releases on leading labels such as Stealth Records and Flamingo Records, Gabriel & Castellon return to Selekted Music with another rocker.

The original mix of Tramp has been around for a while on the dance floors and received proper remixes in the meantime for official release. UK duo Lojak transformed Tramp into a tech driven corker and the fast rising Dutch duo Brian Chundro & Santos - who produced the chart topping remix for Tiko's Groove summer smash Me Faz Amar - deliver their distinctive latino beats!

Tramp may count on DJ support from the likes of Mark Knight, Paco Osuna, Gregor Salto, Syke 'n Sugarstarr, Thomas Gold, Lucien Foort, Bad Boy Bill, Erick E, Damien J Carter, Kidd Massive and many many more, and is playlisted on Kiss 101, Galaxy FM, Defected Radio, Ministry of Sound Radio, SlamFM and Radio 538, amongst others.

Gabriel & Castellon always gain loads of respect with their productions worldwide and there’s always a little buzz around their forthcoming release, remix or bootleg, but to get respect for a track they put out over 2 years ago from one of their all time heroes Copyright, is something even they didn’t experience yet. They put the track Gabriel&Castellon - Afrodisium(Groovenatics mix) no1 in their charts and labeled it “most rated record of the week” in their world renowned radio show Defected’s in the house.

Gabriel & Castellon: Da Capo

Today out on Blackbird a super tasty little track. So tasty in fact that you'd have to be something of a corpse not to want to appreciate it where it really belongs - on the dancefloor. Dutch duo Gabriel Vezzola and Steven Willems, better known as Gabriel & Castellon, are ready and waiting to hit you with Da Capo - prepare to be caught in the web of its catchiness.

Da Capo is ultra-infectious with a lovely little electronic hook around which the boys hang the rest of the track. The duo's tight production skills and their intelligence are certainly both in evidence here - it's no surprise at all that they've already been called up to remix a huge range of artists that include Kid Massive, Prok & Fitch, Mike Polo, Muzikjunki, Lojak and Plastic Funk.
They make fabulous use of all the weapons at their disposal, building the track up and dropping it down to its barest bones with an awesome understanding of the dynamics of an amazing house record. Getting gradually deeper and harder, the tune builds around the unforgettable hook, adding some nice subtle layers to create a nice full sound.

And like any good club tune, this track is a total tease. It's nicely structured and once it begins pushing relentlessly towards the drop you know is coming it's hard not to get twitchy with anticipation. Holding back for just the right amount of time, it's a classic build-up that lets the tune off the leash at exactly the right time - you can picture the crown reaction in minute detail just by closing your eyes and listening carefully.

Gabriel & Castellon describe their trademark sound as 'bouncy, chunky, melodic, crunked out house music with balls.' Certainly this tune is chunky and melodic, but perhaps represents a move from the 'crunked out' to the sexier end of the scale for the boys. Either way, it's fantastic, carefully-planned and well-executed tune that they should feel proud to add to their extensive catalogue of great music.

There’s virtually no week passing by without spreading some Gabriel & Castellon love, as this raging duo may count on some serious international attention from the industry. Thanks to their recent international releases and remixes on high profile labels, superstar DJ Roger Sanchez and his acclaimed label Stealth Records now got their eyes on Gabriel & Castellon. The S-man embraced the gifted duo and offered them a comfortable spot on his label.

As of this week, the Gabriel & Castellon track Tu Bimba - featuring on the Stealth release Roger Sanchez presents Sexy Battle Weapons Volume 1 - is officially and exclusively available for downloads on Beatport. On this 5-track EP, it’s our boys Gabriel & Castellon who are taking the lead as their track is to be found on the EP’s pole position!

Besides their own release on Stealth, The G and C delivered a pumpin’ remix for Roger Sanchez’ future hit “2Gether”, available on worldwide portals soon. And as the icing on the cake, the boys have a great opportunity to show their DJ skills to the masses as they will perform a 40 minutes in-the-mix feature during the “Release Yourself” radio show, hosted by….. of course: Roger Sanchez.

Gabriel & Castellon are conquering the Dutch airwaves

Dutch duo Gabriel & Castellon are definitely rocking the Dutch airwaves with a string of radio performances in the recent weeks. Not only did they treat the Dutch audience to interviews and DJ sets on commercial national stations such as Radio Decibel (during Peter Gelderblom’s Wheels Of Revolution show) and Fresh FM, but last Saturday, the G and C were the special guest on 3FM, one of the largest national broadcasters, in their dance show The Sense Of Dance. After an in depth interview and a rocking DJ set, positive reactions flooded the blokes’ email boxes!

Gabriel & Castellon’s latest offering “Soul” just keeps doing the necessary tricks in the global music industry. Supported by a huge selection of the who is who’s in the scene, “Soul” featuring the vocals of Jerique Allan is now on its journey to the upper regions. Last week, Soul became the Tune Of The Week on the Dutch most influential download portal www.dance-tunes.com in the “all genres” section, which means some nice chart positions in the near future! Meantime, it conquered the # 12 spot in the Dance Tunes Top 100 charts, in the first week of release.

More good news reached us recently: Soul featured in Radio Decibel’s “Do or Dump” election this week, where listeners can cast their votes to either Do or Dump a track. Soul received a “Do” with a stunning 96%!!

On a remix level, the boys just delivered a blazing remix for UK’s hot property Hoxton Whores. Their release “Staunch” received the distinctive Gabriel & Castellon rework, out now on portals worldwide!
